Job Description

The company wants a lead who will direct investigations into financial crime and the filing of suspicious activity reports across its first-line teams in Europe. The post holder is answerable for the quality of those reports and for control systems that must function in practice, be clearly documented and meet supervisory expectations in several EU countries.

As a first-line control owner, the lead oversees continuous monitoring in EU markets. Areas covered include transaction surveillance, anti-fraud checks, sanctions screening and SAR/STR handling. The role also signs off procedural documents and uses management information, exception logs and assurance findings to judge whether controls are working. Keeping the MLRO and senior management informed about incidents, control health and fixes is part of the routine.

External contact is significant. The lead speaks for the first line when regulators or auditors raise questions, acts as the main bridge between frontline operations and Compliance, and tracks the closure of audit, monitoring and RCAMS points.

The ideal applicant has worked on financial crime, fraud or AML controls at a regulated financial firm and understands where first-line duties end and second-line duties begin. Clear writing for regulators and executives is essential. Experience as a control owner across several jurisdictions is a plus, and familiarity with goAML and regional financial intelligence reporting platforms is useful.

Tide provides business banking and administration tools to small and medium-sized firms, serving more than two million members in four markets. The listing does not give an office address for this role.
