Job Description

Moniepoint Inc. is a financial platform operating across Africa that assists millions of businesses and individuals with digital payments, banking, credit, and management solutions. As a prominent merchant acquirer in Nigeria handling significant annual transaction volumes, the company seeks a Financial Planning Analyst to join its team on a full-time, on-site basis.

This position works alongside the Head of Group FP&A to manage forecasting, financial reporting, and annual budgeting cycles. The chosen professional will additionally function as the primary finance contact for smaller subsidiaries that lack an assigned analyst. Key duties involve updating monthly consolidation models, investigating variances, assembling board reporting packages, and monitoring core business metrics.

Ideal candidates possess several years of corporate finance background along with advanced spreadsheet modeling proficiencies. This role suits independent individuals capable of working directly with subsidiary leaders without constant oversight, maintaining organized financial data, and delivering scheduled reports on time.

The multi-step recruitment journey begins with an initial telephone screening by a recruiter. Subsequent stages feature a hiring manager discussion, a panel evaluation involving existing finance team leads, and a final technical and behavioral meeting with an executive team member.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and refresh the monthly Group consolidation model while reconciling actual financial figures against forecasts.
  • Deliver budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting assistance to subsidiaries lacking dedicated FP&A staff.
  • Compile standard management and board reporting packages on a regular monthly and quarterly schedule.
  • Facilitate the annual budgeting procedure by distributing templates, gathering business unit data, and compiling variance commentary.
  • Perform variance evaluations comparing performance against budgets and prior forecasts while writing explanatory narratives.
  • Monitor performance indicators and unit economics across assigned corporate entities.
  • Complete ad hoc financial analysis inquiries originating from the CFO, Head of Group FP&A, or subsidiary directors.

Requirements

  • Accumulate four to six years of professional background within financial analysis, FP&A, or related corporate finance functions.
  • Demonstrate advanced capabilities in spreadsheet use and financial modeling.
  • Possess practical background handling multi-currency or multi-entity financial figures.
  • Hold a part-qualification or full qualification as an accountant such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or an equivalent analytical credential.

Qualifications

  • Bring previous work background from a regulated sector, fintech, or banking environment.
  • Show prior exposure to producing board-level reports.
  • Demonstrate the ability to operate independently with business unit stakeholders without close daily supervision.
