Dikshatek is hiring a Firewall Engineer for a full-time, remote position. This role focuses on driving network and firewall architecture compliance with IT policies, supporting infrastructure, and handling security incidents. The position is well-suited for a professional with background in network security, cloud platforms, and firewall technologies who can thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced setting. Responsibilities include deploying and configuring network and firewall systems, setting up rules, researching emerging vulnerabilities, and participating in audits, disaster recovery plans, and vulnerability testing.
Responsibilities
- Manage the implementation and adherence to IT policies concerning firewall and network architecture
- Support remediation efforts and assist during security incidents
- Investigate the newest industry practices, technologies, emerging vulnerabilities, and threats
- Set up, configure, and maintain network and firewall infrastructure
- Create firewall rule specifications including transport protocols, ports, source IPs, and destination IPs
- Determine the root causes of incidents and formulate recommendations to prevent recurring failures
- Anticipate service quality issues proactively
- Take part in network vulnerability drills and testing
- Engage in IT audits and disaster recovery planning
- Perform other assigned duties as applicable
Requirements
- Familiarity with WAN and LAN technologies
- Proficiency in general network security concepts, IDS/IPS, Remote Access, and Fortinet or Palo Alto firewalls
- Knowledge of DNS, monitoring tools, and NAC including Clearpass
- Adaptability to a fast-paced and dynamic environment with strong interpersonal and service-oriented skills
- Background working with one or more cloud platforms like Google, Azure, or AWS across various services
- Familiarity with Palo Alto SASE solutions
- Solid troubleshooting and analytical abilities
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Engineering, Computer Studies, or IT
- Palo Alto certifications are considered an advantage
