Backed by prominent venture capital firms including Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins, and NEA Ventures, Inkitt is currently seeking a Freelance Ghostwriter - Romance/Romantasy (Remote) to join its globally distributed team.
In this creative position, the ghostwriter will oversee multiple books within a series published on Galatea. The role centers on managing the complete narrative pipeline, from initial brainstorming and pitching to final execution and delivery. Writers will craft full-length romance novels while working alongside internal teams and agentic LLM tools to maintain narrative consistency and meet scheduled deadlines.

Responsibilities
- Manage the complete book creation process for multiple series installments
- Read existing material, brainstorm new story concepts, present pitches, and execute revisions
- Collaborate with internal authors and agentic LLM tools during story development
- Preserve narrative consistency across ongoing series
- Fulfill delivery milestones according to a regular schedule
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience writing long-form fiction such as published works, self-published books, web serials, fan fiction with a following, or previous ghostwriting projects
- Strong familiarity with romance genres, tropes, and what drives reader engagement
- Solid grasp of pacing, chapter hooks, and cliffhangers
- Willingness to integrate AI tools into the creative process
- Ability to adapt to a specific tone or house style and accept editorial feedback
- Proficiency in clean, native-level English with strict adherence to deadlines
Qualifications
- Prior background in serialized or episodic fiction on platforms such as Wattpad, Radish, Kindle Vella, or webnovels
- Experience publishing independent book-length works
