The Consumer Engineering department develops and scales the features that members utilize directly to discover content, engage with groups, and interact with others. This centralized unit operates across various consumer areas including feeds, community presence, growth, monetization, and security.
The organization seeks a Front End Software Engineer to join the Consumer Engineering group. In this role, the engineer will partner closely with product managers, designers, data scientists, machine learning engineers, and backend developers to build, test, and scale capabilities that shape how hundreds of millions of users navigate and engage with the platform.
This position suits a product-minded technologist who bridges metrics and user experience, balances rapid iteration with architectural rigor, and communicates complex concepts clearly. Successful candidates possess strong proficiency in modern web stacks, including JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Next.js, alongside experience designing and maintaining APIs using protocols such as REST, GraphQL, gRPC, HTTP, or Thrift basics.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product, design, and platform engineering partners to execute product strategy and develop media features.
- Manage the complete software development lifecycle from technical design and architectural proposals to implementation, testing, experimentation, performance analysis, and deployment.
- Maintain quality standards through code reviews, design document evaluations, and feedback on product specs and UI mockups.
- Establish developer workflows, champion best practices, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in modern web stacks including JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
- Demonstrated experience translating complex designs into responsive, production-grade applications.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining APIs using REST, GraphQL, gRPC, HTTP, or Thrift basics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
