Job Description

Smile Digital Health is seeking an Intermediate Frontend Developer to support the creation and maintenance of user-facing features within the Clinical Intelligence platform. Operating remotely across Canada, the successful candidate will help build an interactive and responsive user interface for a platform utilized by healthcare stakeholders in over 20 countries.

This technical position involves translating design concepts into functional implementation plans, writing clean and manageable code, and collaborating with cross-functional team members. The ideal candidate will possess solid experience building applications with Angular and related web technologies, and will take part in peer code reviews, architectural discussions, and client meetings as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement responsive, scalable user interfaces for assigned features and modules
  • Write maintainable application code, components, modules, and unit tests
  • Develop and sustain comprehensive documentation for front-end components
  • Take part in rigorous testing cycles and resolve identified system defects
  • Lead architectural design discussions concerning Angular front-end structures and mentor peers
  • Adhere to department coding standards and participate in collaborative pair programming
  • Engage in client meetings and monthly technology strategy sessions as required

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of software development experience
  • Practical background using Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and Git
  • Demonstrated ability in building applications with Angular and understanding core concepts including state management, observables, interceptors, and routing
  • Familiarity with agile and scrum methodologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Previous background in the healthcare or technology sector
  • Familiarity with tools and technologies such as Slack, Google applications, Figma, Jira, GitLab, Postman, Microsoft Azure, Jasmine, Karma, Cordova, Ionic, REST APIs, and Bootstrap
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, Docker containers, and networking principles
  • Knowledge or prior exposure to healthcare standards such as HL7 and FHIR
