Direct Agents is seeking a remote, full-time Full-Stack Developer to manage and expand its portfolio of AI-driven systems, internal dashboards, and client reporting tools, while also contributing to the development of an unannounced generative AI application for the media industry. This position involves maintaining existing infrastructure alongside greenfield product design. A central component of the daily routine centers on utilizing Claude Code as the primary development environment, requiring candidates to direct and verify AI-generated code and agentic workflows rather than writing every line manually. The employer operates a suite of automated account agents, analytics solutions, and continuous client interfaces.
This opportunity is well-suited for a software engineer comfortable with AI-assisted development tools and modern web stacks. Responsibilities include building backends in Python with FastAPI, managing JavaScript front ends like Vue, and handling SQL data layers. The person in this role will collaborate closely with strategy, account, and data departments to translate media needs into functional applications, manage production deployments, and integrate language models.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain full-stack capabilities utilizing Python, FastAPI, JavaScript, and SQL
- Utilize Claude Code daily to prompt agentic workflows and review AI-generated code and pull requests
- Support, debug, and improve data pipelines, SQL views, and workflow automations
- Incorporate LLM APIs from providers like OpenAI and Anthropic for generative features
- Manage deployments, monitoring, rollbacks, and incident response for client-facing websites and internal platforms
- Partner with strategy, data, and account teams to convert reporting requirements into software
- Document prompts, systems, and workflows
- Contribute to architectural and feature decisions for the new generative AI product
Requirements
- Demonstrated full-stack development experience
- Hands-on experience or genuine interest in agentic or AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Cursor
- Backend proficiency in Python
- Front-end proficiency in JavaScript, with Vue preferred
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, Git version control, and agile processes
- Capability to manage both new product development and ongoing maintenance of live systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- Experience with React or Angular front ends
- Familiarity with SQL Server or Azure SQL databases
- Prior exposure to workflow automation tools like n8n
- Knowledge of LLM APIs, retrieval-augmented generation, vector search, or marketing and media AI workflows
