BloomGuarden, a United States-headquartered human resources company, is currently hiring a Full-Stack Developer to work on an independent contractor basis. The organization maintains two primary software product lines: GuardenLabs, which provides web-based workforce planning tools for finance and human resources departments, and Audelle, a mobile application and API designed for household management and staff coordination. Operating as a small team, this position serves as the second developer on staff, collaborating directly with a senior developer who provides mentorship and code reviews.
This role is fully remote for individuals residing in the Philippines. The schedule requires working Monday through Friday from 7:00 PM to 4:00 Philippine time to align with the senior developer. Responsibilities span across both product ecosystems, involving tasks such as implementing mobile application screens, creating API endpoints, resolving software defects, and building responsive user interface components.
Ideal candidates possess basic familiarity with essential tools like React, GitHub, and Vercel, alongside professional or project-based experience in web and mobile development. The position suits individuals who prioritize testing, maintain clear written communication, and demonstrate the ability to learn rapidly in a distributed environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy mobile application screens using React Native and Expo
- Construct backend API endpoints utilizing Node.js and Express
- Resolve bugs and implement new features within GuardenLabs HR web applications built with React, Next.js, and Vite
- Create responsive, reusable React user interface components based on provided designs
- Deploy and oversee applications on Vercel while troubleshooting production errors using Sentry
- Write automated tests prior to developing code for business rules, calculations, and permissions
- Submit pull requests on GitHub for every modification and address code review feedback
- Maintain daily task boards on Monday.com using clear, concise English updates
Requirements
- Proficiency with React.js for building and connecting user interfaces to application programming interfaces
- Working knowledge of GitHub including branching, pull requests, code reviews, and resolving merge conflicts
- Experience deploying and managing at least one application on Vercel
- One to three years of professional experience creating web or mobile applications, or equivalent shipped portfolio projects
- Strong skills in JavaScript ES6 plus and TypeScript
- Backend background including writing REST endpoints and SQL database queries, with PostgreSQL preferred
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks such as Jest or Vitest
- Competency in responsive, mobile-first web development and debugging
- Clear written English communication skills for remote collaboration
- Computer capable of running the Android emulator, stable internet, backup power source, and a quiet workspace
- Residency in the Philippines
Qualifications
- Experience with React Native, Expo, or Next.js
- Knowledge of Supabase and row-level security concepts
- Familiarity with Express, Zod, Tailwind CSS, NativeWind, or TanStack Query
- Background working with Stripe payments, Sentry error tracking, and CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of authentication methods including OAuth, JWT, Supabase Auth, or Clerk
- Comfort working with numbers and spreadsheets for calculation-heavy tools
- Previous experience in a startup or SaaS product environment
- Judicious use of AI coding assistants with the ability to explain every submitted line of code
