XO Health Inc. is a health plan created by and for self-insured employers, aiming to establish a unified healthcare experience for patients, care providers, and payers. The organization is expanding its multi-disciplinary staff to transform the healthcare industry and rebuild trust.
The company seeks a front-end-leaning Full Stack Engineer for a remote position based in India. This role focuses on constructing applications that shape the provider experience, taking ownership of the complete user journey from component architecture and state management to performance, accessibility, and testing. The professional will also contribute to GraphQL APIs and cloud services.
The ideal candidate is a UI craftsperson who feels comfortable designing APIs and building fast, secure, and maintainable interfaces at scale. Responsibilities span architecting data-rich web applications, implementing client-side state management for workflows like claims and eligibility, creating validated forms, building efficient GraphQL clients, and upholding testing standards. Additionally, the engineer will apply security practices for protected health information, champion responsive UI development, and build serverless back-end services. Candidates should enjoy tackling the complexities of the American healthcare ecosystem and collaborating with product, design, and operations teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and development of data-rich provider web applications including routing, code splitting, and lazy loading
- Design and implement client-side state management for workflows such as claims, eligibility, authorizations, and provider onboarding
- Build validated forms and multi-step workflows to simplify dense healthcare information
- Construct efficient GraphQL clients with query design, normalized caching, pagination, and optimistic updates
- Establish and maintain unit, component, and end-to-end front-end testing standards
- Apply security practices for handling protected health information, encompassing OAuth 2.0/OIDC flows, session handling, XSS prevention, and Content Security Policy
- Champion responsive, cross-browser UI development utilizing modern CSS and a consistent component library
- Contribute to front-end architecture at scale and manage CI/CD pipelines including automated builds, linting, and deployment
- Design and maintain back-end services and GraphQL APIs that support the front-end infrastructure
- Implement independently scalable and resilient serverless architectures and microservices
- Integrate and customize rules engines for automated decision-making and operational efficiency
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards while prioritizing performance and scalability
- Collaborate with Product, UX, and cross-functional teams to define and release features for the healthcare sector
- Provide technical guidance, pair programming, and code reviews to mentor other engineers
Requirements

- Deep expertise in a statically typed language and at least one modern component-based front-end framework

- Experience implementing client-side GraphQL alongside a solid understanding of API design and back-end data models
- Working proficiency in a minimum of one back-end language and a major cloud platform with serverless services
- Practical experience with unit, component, and end-to-end front-end testing
- Competency in writing SQL and interacting with relational or NoSQL data
- Fluency in utilizing AI-assisted development tools
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Qualifications
- Familiarity with multiple front-end frameworks
- Background in building or maintaining a design system or component library
- Exposure to micro-frontend architectures or monorepos
- Experience developing search experiences covering indexing, querying, and performance tuning
