Job Description
Flex is hiring a General Manager to lead its healthcare practices business. The employer is building an AI-native private banking platform tailored for business owners managing companies with revenue between $3 million and $200 million. In this role, you will take complete end-to-end ownership of the healthcare sector, including formulating the market strategy, securing key partnerships, guiding product priorities, and managing the overall sector P&L. Operating similarly to a sector coverage role at an investment bank, you will identify influential relationships, secure high-impact partnerships, and collaborate closely with product, credit, risk, and member experience teams. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for mapping out the healthcare sector, driving direct originations through events and meetings, structuring large-scale partnerships such as GPOs and DSOs, and defining product requirements. Initially supported by existing account executives and member experience staff, you will eventually build and lead your own dedicated sector team as the portfolio scales. Compensation consists of a base salary between $275,000 and $325,000 per year, a variable component targeted at 100% of the base, eligibility for equity compensation, and benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan.
Responsibilities
- Manage the sector P&L and answer weekly for the revenue and number of healthcare business owners banking with Flex
- Identify and map the key individuals who influence healthcare practices within the first 90 days
- Originate business directly through site visits, dinners, conferences, portfolio days, and referrals
- Structure, negotiate, and maintain high-impact partnerships with groups such as GPOs, DSOs, MSOs, EHR integrations, and equipment lenders
- Direct product leadership regarding the requirements necessary to win primary banking relationships in the healthcare sector
- Build and lead a dedicated sector team as the client pipeline expands beyond initial capacity
- Utilize AI-native tools for research, outreach, relationship tracking, and modeling
Requirements
- 7 to 12 years of professional experience in private equity, private credit, investment banking, venture capital, or a senior commercial role within healthcare practices
- Demonstrable track record of originating business rather than servicing accounts
- Active professional network within healthcare practices with established contacts
- Comprehensive fluency in practice economics, including payer mix, collections cycles, equipment spend, ownership transitions, and lending sources
- Ability to independently structure partnerships, negotiate referral terms, and manage term sheets
- Banker-level Excel proficiency and a solid understanding of deposit, card, and credit unit economics
- Preparation of a one-pager coverage pitch for the application covering the sector, product needs, relationship map, initial partnerships, unit economics, and team buildout
Qualifications
- Experience in banking, fintech, lending, or selling financial products to business owners
- Established standing within healthcare practices through a trade board seat, podcast, newsletter, or conference stage
- Operating, advisory, or investing experience inside a company operating within healthcare practices
