damofalls investments is hiring a full-time Grader Operator to work on-site in Harare. This role involves manipulating grading machinery to level, smooth, and shape various surfaces according to exact engineering specifications. The position suits an experienced equipment operator who can interpret survey markers and blueprints while maintaining safety standards on the job site.
The successful candidate will manage adjustable moldboards, use rear-mounted scarifiers or rippers to break up compacted earth, and utilize 3D grade control systems. Responsibilities include preparing sub-grades, cutting side slopes and drainage ditches, performing pre-shift equipment inspections, and communicating effectively with ground crews and other operators.
Responsibilities
- Operate adjustable moldboards to level, smooth, and shape earth, stone, gravel, or asphalt surfaces
- Adjust blade angles to cut ditches, banks, and side slopes for proper drainage
- Prepare foundational earth layers prior to paving roads, runways, or building foundations
- Manage control levers and joysticks to adjust blade height, tilt, angle, and side-shift
- Utilize rear-mounted rippers or scarifiers to break up hard, compacted ground, asphalt, or ice
- Operate integrated 3D grade control systems including GPS and laser telemetry
- Conduct pre-shift machinery inspections checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and structural integrity
- Inspect, rotate, or replace worn bolt-on cutting edges on the blade
- Communicate clearly with spotters, grade checkers, and other operators to protect utility lines and ground personnel
- Interpret blueprints, construction stakes, and grade markers to determine cut and fill requirements
