The organization is expanding its financial operations and seeks a versatile Group Accountant to join the team on a remote basis. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager Accounting, this position acts as a key bridge within the finance department, handling both high-level conceptual tasks and daily transactional duties.
The successful candidate will manage monthly consolidation tasks according to HGB and IFRS, oversee intercompany balances, and contribute to year-end closing processes. Additionally, the role involves supporting accounts receivable and accounts payable functions during peak times or absences, driving internal finance projects, and participating in banking and tax-related support tasks. This opportunity suits an action-oriented professional with a strong background in corporate accounting, robust analytical abilities, and the flexibility to navigate both strategic and operational responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage and execute monthly consolidations under HGB and IFRS, including intercompany eliminations, reconciliations, and reporting
- Advance the consolidation logic within NetSuite
- Analyze and resolve intercompany balances and foreign exchange differences between subsidiary entities
- Contribute to annual financial closings at both the group and individual company levels
- Handle operational accounts receivable and accounts payable tasks, such as reviewing and booking vendor bills, credits, and payment runs, as well as conducting monthly open item reviews
- Engage in internal finance projects encompassing process improvements, system developments, and reporting initiatives
- Document and roll out new finance procedures while serving as a contact point for cross-functional topics between finance and operations
- Contribute to special projects like system implementations, chart of accounts adjustments, and structural enterprise modifications
- Provide backup support for bank transactions, account reconciliations, VAT advance returns, and tax account corrections as needed
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of professional experience in accounting, auditing, or financial analysis with a strong focus on group accounting and consolidation
- Proficiency in HGB regulations
- Familiarity with ERP software, specifically NetSuite, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics
- Understanding of intercompany structures, eliminations, and foreign exchange valuation
- Fluency in German and good proficiency in English at a B2 level or higher
Qualifications
- Completed university degree in business administration, economics, or accounting, or certification as an IHK Bilanzbuchhalter or equivalent
- Working knowledge of IFRS standards
- Prior background working within project contexts such as system implementations or process transformations
