This position requires a hybrid work schedule based out of the San Francisco office. The ideal candidate blends strategic leadership with hands-on technical execution, guiding initiatives related to product analytics, experimentation, and artificial intelligence integration.
In this capacity, you will collaborate closely with product management, engineering, design, marketing, sales, and finance departments. Responsibilities include mentoring data science professionals, defining measurement frameworks, and partnering on machine learning features such as personalization and automated workflows. Active engagement with relevant artificial intelligence tools is an expected part of daily operations at the organization.
Responsibilities
- Hire, mentor, and lead a team of data scientists and analysts while establishing high standards for quality and career advancement
- Collaborate with product and cross-functional leaders to identify business opportunities and shape long-term product roadmaps
- Establish key metrics, tracking systems, and evaluation frameworks for product initiatives and artificial intelligence features
- Design and support inferential analyses, segmentation, funnel analysis, and experimentation including A/B tests
- Partner with machine learning engineering and product teams to integrate intelligent features like personalization and predictive models
- Conduct deep data dives and review technical analyses to ensure business relevance and statistical rigor
- Present insights, trade-offs, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership stakeholders
Requirements
- At least 10 years of professional background in data science or closely related disciplines
- Minimum of 4 years of experience managing and scaling high-performing data science teams
- Deep expertise in product analytics covering user acquisition, activation, retention, engagement, or expansion within SaaS environments
- Advanced coding abilities, strong statistical reasoning skills, and familiarity with experimentation frameworks
- Experience working at the intersection of data science and artificial intelligence product development
- Demonstrated ability to connect data insights to broader business goals and influence product roadmaps
- Proven background in communicating complex insights to senior stakeholders
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with machine learning applications in product contexts such as churn prediction, customer segmentation, or LLM-powered features
- Familiarity with multi-product software-as-a-service ecosystems and customer lifecycle analytics
