Job Description
Moniepoint operates an all-in-one financial ecosystem across Africa, supplying payment, banking, credit, and management tools to businesses and their customers. Serving as Nigeria’s largest merchant acquirer, the company processed $182 billion in 2023. The organization is seeking a Head, Group FP&A to establish and oversee the enterprise-wide financial planning and analysis methodology, framework, and reporting standards.
This position acts as a consolidation and framework role rather than a daily business unit finance job. The incumbent will set corporate standards, consolidate outputs from standalone subsidiary FP&A teams across Moniepoint Nigeria, Moniepoint Kenya, MonieWorld, and Moniepoint Technologies, and directly cover markets or shared services lacking dedicated resources. Key duties involve managing the annual budget process, producing consolidated forecasts from 2026 through 2028 and beyond, building KPI and unit-economics frameworks, and conducting scenario modeling for strategic corporate decisions.
The role suits a senior finance professional with extensive experience in corporate finance, investment banking, or FP&A. Candidates must demonstrate deep expertise in multi-entity and multi-currency consolidation, advanced financial modeling capabilities, and strong leadership skills to manage analysts and guide regional finance teams without duplicating their local execution.
Responsibilities
- Design and establish the corporate forecasting architecture, budget methodology, and management-reporting standards for all entities.
- Consolidate forecasts from various business units and markets into a unified corporate balance sheet, P&L, and cash flow statement with intercompany eliminations.
- Manage the annual budget timeline, templates, challenge sessions, and Board approval process.
- Generate consolidated corporate forecasts reconciled monthly to actuals alongside variance explanations.
- Collaborate with the Group Financial Controller to ensure alignment between actuals, consolidations, and forecasts.
- Execute monthly and quarterly reporting duties including board packs, consolidated management accounts, and investor reporting.
- Create and maintain corporate KPI and unit-economics frameworks across all subsidiary finance teams.
- Partner with business unit finance leads and CFOs as the primary standard-setter.
- Execute scenario and sensitivity modeling for strategic initiatives like capital raises, license applications, and new market entry.
- Direct and develop the group FP&A analysts supporting markets without dedicated local resources.
Requirements
- Over 10 years of professional background in corporate finance, investment banking, or FP&A, including designing forecasting frameworks from scratch.
- Demonstrated expertise in consolidating forecasts and management accounts across multiple entities and currencies.
- Professional background within a regulated, fast-growth environment, fintech, or banking sector.
- Advanced spreadsheet financial modeling capabilities at an architect level.
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively as a senior remote finance leader across multiple time zones.
Qualifications
- ACA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent certification.
- Background working in high-growth African or emerging-market fintech companies or banks.
- Prior exposure to group-level board and investor reporting.
- Familiarity with consolidation or planning tools such as Pigment, Aleph, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
- Experience establishing FP&A functions or frameworks during scale-up phases.
