This full-time, on-site executive role in Lagos leads enterprise compliance, assurance and risk-based governance. The head of compliance advises the CEO and Board Audit Committee, monitors regulatory changes including NCC guidelines, AML and data privacy rules, and builds the compliance framework, controls and training programs.
Responsibilities
- Advise the CEO and senior leadership on risk, regulation and internal control frameworks.
- Track regulatory trends and new laws, including NCC guidelines, AML and data privacy rules.
- Build and maintain the compliance framework, monitoring programs and training.
- Identify control gaps and emerging threats, and build testing and monitoring systems.
Requirements
- 12-15 years of progressive experience in internal audit, compliance or risk management, with at least 5 in a senior leadership role.
- Deep knowledge of the Nigerian regulatory environment, including NCC, CBN and FIRS rules and anti-corruption laws.
- Experience in enterprise risk assessment, fraud prevention, forensic auditing and governance.
- Strategic thinking, high ethical standards and strong stakeholder management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, Business Administration or a related field; an MBA or master's is preferred.
- Professional certification such as CIA, CPA, CISA or ACCA is required.
