Job Description
Hiring at Fluent Trade Technologies targets a remote, full-time Head of DevOps who will lead and grow the global DevOps unit. The company intends to replace a manual, text-driven configuration process with a semi-automated, generator-based approach that can scale across many servers and support growing development work.
The leader sets the team's culture, pushes automation forward and decides how DevOps capacity is spent. Duties cover environment version control, configuration management and infrastructure automation, plus building internal guides so the team sets the bar for how components are configured and shipped. The leader hires, trains and supervises staff, assigns work and promotes practices for monitoring, incident handling and security hardening. The posting clarifies that the person is not expected to serve as the team's top technical expert. The role also includes evaluating new technologies that could improve reliability, scale and delivery speed.
Candidates need at least seven years in DevOps or site reliability work, five of them in leadership or management, along with experience supporting several outside clients. Strong Git and SVN skills, Linux administration (RedHat 8 preferred), database application versioning and Python scripting are required. The person should have worked with large non-cloud systems and carried responsibility for production in mission-critical settings, and must write and speak English well.
