Job Description
Descript makes an editing product for video and audio, built for the AI era, and states it reaches more than 50 million users with a team of roughly 150. This Head of Enterprise Marketing position is a hands-on builder role for a leader who will push the company upmarket, turning self-serve users who fit the profile into larger enterprise agreements and pursuing accounts that belong in the pipeline. The listing is marked remote. The company recruits for remote and hybrid positions and has its headquarters in San Francisco's Mission District.
The leader co-owns upmarket pipeline targets with Sales and writes an enterprise demand playbook that defines the ideal customer profile, target account selection, channel mix, offers, and campaigns. The job includes a framework for deciding which industries and segments to pursue first, account-based programs, and an annual marketing calendar tied to business milestones. The leader works with Product and Sales on moving self-serve users toward enterprise purchases through lifecycle plays and conversion tests, and works with the in-house paid team and RevOps on enterprise lifecycle programs. Measurement is central: tracking which channels, plays, and offers generate inbound interest and conversions, and reporting on pipeline contribution.
In the first year, the posting expects the leader to launch the enterprise demand motion, set up a measurement framework, put a formal marketing calendar in place, and stage at least one deal accelerator with Field Marketing, such as an EBC, a roundtable, or a CxO event. The role also contributes to enterprise pricing and packaging decisions.
