AMSERS Consulting is currently searching for a Head of Infrastructure & Cloud to join a large, highly complex organization operating in a mission-critical and regulated setting. Reporting to the Chief Infrastructure & Operations Officer, this newly created senior technology position governs a workforce of roughly 500 to 600 employees. The person in this role will guide the full lifecycle of strategy, engineering, modernization, and daily operations for enterprise cloud and infrastructure platforms.
This position goes beyond conventional infrastructure operations. The selected leader will craft a long-term technology roadmap spanning three to five years, direct large-scale migrations and cloud adoption initiatives, and maintain the performance, uptime, and resilience of essential production systems. Candidates must balance high-level strategic vision with technical depth capable of evaluating complex engineering work, vendor performance, and transformation execution.
Ideal candidates bring extensive backgrounds in driving enterprise-level cloud and data center modernization within regulated sectors such as financial services or healthcare. The position requires strong commercial acumen, mastery of FinOps and cost governance, and the ability to steer organizational change while keeping ongoing business operations stable.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute the long-term infrastructure and cloud roadmap, operating model, and investment priorities
- Direct large-scale modernization programs covering cloud adoption, platform standardisation, and enterprise migrations
- Establish reusable engineering patterns, infrastructure-as-code automation, and platform guardrails
- Maintain end-to-end accountability for production service availability, monitoring, and incident management
- Embed disaster recovery, backup, security, compliance, and data-residency requirements by design
- Drive FinOps practices, consumption governance, cost optimization, and capacity planning
- Manage strategic technology vendors, outsourcing arrangements, and managed service providers
- Lead and develop a large, multi-disciplinary organization by empowering established senior leaders
Requirements
- At least 15 years of relevant experience across cloud, infrastructure engineering, transformation, and operations
- Significant leadership background inside a large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure setting
- Proven track record of leading enterprise-wide cloud or infrastructure transformations
- Direct accountability experience for production infrastructure operations and service availability
- Direct oversight of at least one major data center, cloud, or infrastructure migration involving complex cutover execution
- Demonstrated experience working within a regulated environment such as financial services, healthcare, or telecommunications
