After a successful initial period, the role offers a path toward the organization's worker ownership program.

Requirements
- Minimum of 12 years of software building experience, with at least 3 years leading engineers in a studio, agency, startup, or founder-led company
- Extensive experience engineering and shipping complex production systems including distributed services and data pipelines
- Proficiency as a technology generalist spanning frontend, backend, data, infrastructure, and native platforms
- Practical engineering philosophy prioritizing convention over configuration and boring technology
- Deep familiarity with agentic software development workflows including loop engineering and evals
- Fluency across a core stack that includes React, Next.js, Ruby on Rails, Elixir, Phoenix, Sanity, Postgres, and Redis
- Proven experience acting as a technical lead for client scoping, estimations, and pitching
- Demonstrated track record of recruiting top-tier engineers and fostering professional growth
- Hands-on coding capability to write code alongside the team when required
Qualifications
- Understanding of hardware mechanics, firmware, embedded systems, and IoT product development
- Background working in client-run service environments such as consultancies, agencies, or creative studios
- Previous experience holding a Sales Engineer or Solutions Architect role
- History of starting or maintaining open-source projects
- Experience fostering collaboration between engineering and design teams
- Prior exposure to worker-owned, open-book, or alternative organizational structures
- Established network within the engineering community across meetups and conferences
