IDERA Software is seeking a Part-Time HR Generalist to provide ongoing human resources administration for international teams across five countries, including the UK, Netherlands, Germany, France, and the Czech Republic. Operating on a remote basis for 20 hours per week, the professional in this position will report directly to a US-based Vice President of HR. The schedule and work pattern can be arranged to accommodate the needs of both the business and the job holder.
This role encompasses managing the full employee lifecycle, ensuring compliance with local laws, handling employee relations, maintaining personnel databases, and updating company handbooks. The ideal candidate brings senior-level generalist experience, international HR knowledge, and familiarity with UK employment regulations. This position suits an organized, self-motivated professional who can work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strict confidentiality across multiple priorities.
Responsibilities
- Manage HR database records, annual leave, and attendance monitoring
- Prepare employment contracts, offer letters, and manage onboarding for new hires as well as exit processes for departing staff
- Guide and assist line managers through employee relations matters, performance issues, disciplinary hearings, and grievances
- Keep employee handbooks and company policies current with legal and procedural developments
- Coordinate with finance and operations departments regarding payroll data and employee benefits
- Act as the primary liaison for legal counsel and external employment lawyers when dealing with disputes or expert advice
- Contribute to merger, acquisition, and TUPE due diligence activities as required
Requirements
- Significant commercial generalist HR management experience at a senior level, ideally within a small team or standalone capacity
- Demonstrated knowledge of UK employment legislation and general labor laws across relevant international regions
- Experience consulting with international legal counsel and independently implementing guidance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Availability to occasionally work outside standard hours to handle calls or remote meetings across different time zones
Qualifications
- Educated to degree level or possessing equivalent general office administration experience within an HR setting
- Fully CIPD qualified or holding equivalent practical experience
- Prior exposure to international human resources management across the countries covered by the division
- Background working in the software industry or for a US-owned enterprise
- Proficiency in a second European language
