The organization seeks an Insights Analyst, Implementation & QA to join its team on a remote-permitted basis. This position suits an analytics professional who can support data-informed decision-making across digital products like apps, websites, and video platforms. Reporting directly to the Audience Insights Director of Digital Insights, the selected candidate will help build an audience-centric, data-driven app by evaluating unaggregated datasets, managing measurement plans, and creating automated dashboards.
The role requires deep hands-on SQL expertise and experience with digital event tracking tools. The person in this position will work alongside digital product teams, newsroom staff, and member station leaders to boost audience engagement, expand listening habits, and increase retention. Candidates must note that this is a union-represented position governed by a collective bargaining agreement with NABET-CWA DMU. The expected salary range spans from $91,276.23 to $98,294.51 per year, alongside comprehensive health, wellness, and retirement benefits for eligible full-time staff.
Responsibilities
- Write, optimize, and execute complex SQL queries against raw event logs across web, app, and video data sources
- Develop measurement plans and validate tracking tags using Google Tag Manager
- Maintain automated data summaries, scheduled queries, and backend data pipelines
- Partner with internal teams to build and sustain interactive reporting dashboards in Looker
- Diagnose and resolve tracking errors, data discrepancies, and schema issues
- Draft clear technical specifications, documentation, and digital analytics standards
- Translate business questions from product managers and editorial teams into technical measurement requirements
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of hands-on SQL experience creating queries from scratch in relational databases or enterprise data warehouses like BigQuery or Dataform
- Practical experience querying unaggregated, large-scale event datasets such as GA4 raw exports
- Minimum of two years of direct experience with web and app event tracking via Firebase or GA4
- Minimum of two years of experience planning, testing, and implementing tracking through Google Tag Manager
- Proficiency building dashboards in Looker or similar business intelligence platforms alongside advanced spreadsheet modeling capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in public broadcasting, news media, or digital content platforms
- Familiarity with data modeling or analysis using Python or R
- Experience developing self-service analytics systems or data governance frameworks
