We Are Rosie acts as a talent solutions and strategic consulting provider for the marketing sector, connecting professionals with major brands and agencies. The organization is currently sourcing candidates for a global alternative asset manager client seeking a freelance interactive motion designer equipped with front-end prototyping capabilities. This professional will elevate the corporate website through interactive data visualizations, scroll-driven storytelling, parallax elements, and microinteractions before transferring the assets to an internal engineering department.
This opportunity suits individuals who think in motion, prototype directly in code, and understand how to construct web animations that remain responsive, performant, and accessible. The engagement operates on a project basis, initially requiring 10 to 15 hours per week with potential for workload adjustments based on project demands. The contract runs for three months to start, and candidates must be comfortable working remotely within Eastern Standard Time hours.
Responsibilities
- Design interactive data visualizations primarily utilizing Highcharts for the corporate website
- Develop custom scroll-based animations covering scrubbed, triggered, and pinned behaviors, alongside parallax effects and microinteractions
- Produce Figma layouts aligned with responsive breakpoints at 1440, 1200, 992, 768, and 375 pixels using the established design system
- Construct inspectable, functional prototypes via HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or applications such as Framer, Webflow, or Figma Make to demonstrate scroll mechanics and scene entry and exit states
- Draft technical animation documentation detailing the motion system, trigger points, start and end states, durations, scroll distances, and easing for the engineering team
- Collaborate with the internal engineering group during implementation and handoff phases
- Assist in estimating timelines and project effort levels
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of professional background in interactive, web, or motion design supported by a portfolio of live interactive and scroll-driven experiences
- Proficiency in front-end prototyping using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Practical experience utilizing web animation tools such as GSAP and ScrollTrigger
- Background in designing web-based interactive charts or data visualizations
- Advanced-level proficiency in Figma and experience operating within a formal design system
- Knowledge of performance-conscious and accessible animation principles covering frame rates, layout stability, and reduced-motion preferences
- Ability to provide detailed documentation for engineering handoffs
- Comfort operating independently in a remote environment on a flexible schedule
- Availability to work during Eastern Standard Time hours
Qualifications
- Hands-on practice with Highcharts or alternative charting libraries like D3.js and Chart.js
- Familiarity with Lottie, Rive, or similar web animation formats
- Previous involvement with investor-facing, corporate, or financial services websites
- Experience building prototypes utilizing Framer, Webflow, or Figma Make interactions
