Smile Digital Health seeks an Intermediate Cloud Security Engineer to join its remote team on a full-time basis. The organization develops a leading health data platform utilized across more than 20 countries, leveraging FHIR-based data liberation technology to help stakeholders collect and exchange healthcare information efficiently. In this newly created role, the incoming professional will design, automate, and deploy production-grade services across platforms such as AWS, Azure, OCI, and GCP for various customers. The position involves close collaboration with architecture and development groups to build scalable environments, offer level three technical assistance, and guide clients through deployment patterns. This opportunity suits professionals with a strong background in IT automation, containerization, and cloud infrastructure who enjoy solving complex business challenges.

Responsibilities
- Partner with architecture and development personnel to construct resilient cloud environments for internal and external builds
- Deliver level 3 technical support to internal groups, clients, and partners
- Guide and educate customers regarding cloud deployment strategies
- Serve as a subject matter expert for infrastructure implementation supporting the core product
- Diagnose and resolve client integration problems encountered during setup
- Establish troubleshooting and maintenance procedures for systems
- Conduct root cause analysis for implementation failures and supply feedback to core developers
- Record best practices and lessons learned
- Build, implement, and maintain a secure, scalable infrastructure platform
- Perform ongoing maintenance and support for internal tools while enhancing reliability
Requirements
- At least 5 years of information technology experience featuring infrastructure and platform services automation expertise
- Minimum 4 years of background engineering and supporting containerization technology
- Minimum 4 years of experience working with AWS, Azure, OCI, or GCP
- Demonstrated ability to build end-to-end cloud solutions utilizing low-level architecture documents
- Experience translating customer requirements into new infrastructure
- Expertise in support escalation troubleshooting, on-call optimization, and documentation
- Solid networking fundamentals alongside experience with security and compliance best practices including SOC2, HIPAA, and ISO27001
- Practical background using Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Docker
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation
