DataGrail, a recognized data privacy platform powered by its Vera AI agent and thousands of integrations, is seeking an IT & Business Systems Manager to oversee internal technology operations for its remote workforce. In this fully remote, full-time role reporting to the VP of Engineering, the successful candidate will operate with a high degree of autonomy to modernize internal IT from reactive support into an automated, self-service environment.
This position suits an experienced IT professional who enjoys owning endpoint management, identity tools, and SaaS application footprints independently. The chosen individual will act as the primary technology point of contact for employees, manage device lifecycles, and collaborate directly with the security engineering function on controls, access reviews, and ISO compliance initiatives. Base compensation for this role ranges from USD 130,000 to 175,000 per year, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package including equity and health coverage.
Responsibilities
- Manage IT and business systems operations for a remote team, encompassing endpoint management, identity tools, and SaaS application inventories
- Provision and deprovision employee access across tools while conducting monthly reviews of accurate renewal records
- Deliver desktop-level technical support and handle incident resolution
- Execute onboarding and offboarding workflows for hardware and accounts
- Partner alongside Security to establish and maintain access controls, endpoint policies, and audit trails for ISO compliance
- Collaborate hands-on with the security engineer on daily security workstreams such as tooling rollouts and access reviews
- Design automation and self-service solutions to minimize manual ticket volume while maintaining visibility and controls
- Administer the Apple device fleet entirely, covering mobile device management policies, operating system updates, and hardware lifecycles
- Oversee vendor relationships and the SaaS vendor management lifecycle to align technology spending with long-term solutions
- Serve as a primary cross-functional partner who surfaces internal technology needs and builds scalable self-service systems
Requirements
- Senior-level experience independently owning a remote-first, distributed IT environment covering endpoints, identity, and business applications
- Demonstrated ability to operate with high autonomy, set direction, and make independent judgment calls with minimal oversight
- Hands-on administrative experience with enterprise MDM platforms such as Kandji, Jamf, or Hexnode, plus Apple hardware and operating systems
- Familiarity with identity and access management solutions like Okta and their security requirements
- Experience building or maturing security and compliance controls such as endpoint compliance or access reviews
- Ability to execute security initiatives designed by others, including vulnerability remediation and tooling rollouts
- Background in automating manual IT workflows through scripting or self-service tooling
- Scripting capabilities in Python alongside experience using Claude Code and other AI tooling for automation and security support
- Experience managing IT vendor relationships and technology spend against formal processes
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for translating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Qualifications
- ISO 27001 or similar framework certification
- Direct experience supporting an ISO audit
- Prior IT experience within a regulated industry or a SaaS company handling sensitive data
