The organization is currently seeking a remote IT & Systems Manager to oversee, secure, and scale internal technology operations.
This foundational position suits an independent professional who enjoys balancing high-level infrastructure planning with direct technical execution. The individual will serve as the primary contact for daily employee support while developing reliable processes for endpoint management, identity controls, and business applications. Responsibilities span hardware lifecycles, user access administration, SaaS portfolio oversight, and vendor negotiations.
Candidates will guide the technological growth of a dynamic enterprise by implementing robust security measures, automating repetitive tasks, and building scalable systems to accommodate remote workers and expanding headcounts. Responsibilities
- Serve as the main internal contact for troubleshooting hardware, software, connectivity, and account inquiries
- Manage the onboarding and offboarding lifecycle, provisioning and revoking equipment and system access
- Procure, configure, ship, recover, and track company laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals
- Administer user accounts, permissions, groups, and licenses across core technology platforms
- Implement role-based access controls, multi-factor authentication, and single sign-on practices
- Design and execute a prioritized infrastructure roadmap to address gaps and automate manual workflows
- Enforce endpoint security measures, device encryption, patching, and administrative controls
- Oversee the SaaS application portfolio and collaborate with department heads to optimize system utilization
- Maintain relationships with IT service providers, hardware suppliers, and software vendors
Requirements
- At least five years of progressive background in IT operations, systems administration, infrastructure, or a related field
- Demonstrated history of independently supporting a broad employee technology ecosystem
- Hands-on practice administering cloud business systems, user permissions, and endpoints
- Direct experience handling IT asset lifecycles alongside employee onboarding and offboarding
- Practical knowledge of identity access management, backup and recovery, encryption, and device patching
- Familiarity with cloud productivity suites such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365
- Strong vendor management and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced setting
Qualifications
- Background building or scaling technology functions inside a startup, growth-stage firm, or similar environment
- Experience supporting distributed workforces across multiple offices, remote staff, and international sites
- Prior work within advanced manufacturing, aerospace, defense, government contracting, or robotics industries
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks like CMMC or NIST 800-171
- Proficiency with automation, scripting, APIs, or low-code tools
