Responsibilities
- Design, test, develop, and maintain backend applications utilizing Spring Boot and Java
- Construct secure, high-performing, and scalable backend services for core financial products
- Create and maintain microservices and RESTful APIs
- Write production-ready, clean code emphasizing reliability and performance
- Partner alongside Product, Engineering, QA, and Infrastructure teams across the software development life cycle
- Engage in technical design sessions, architecture discussions, and code reviews
- Troubleshoot, monitor, and optimize application performance
- Build and support distributed systems with modern cloud-native technology
- Deploy event-driven and messaging solutions through Kafka
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, automated testing, and engineering best practices
Requirements
- Proven background in developing backend software with Java
- Extensive experience applying Spring Boot or comparable Java frameworks
- Demonstrated history of building and maintaining distributed systems within production environments
- Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
- Background in developing microservices and RESTful APIs
- Working familiarity with Amazon EKS and AWS
- Experience utilizing MySQL or alternative relational databases
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and Kafka
- Working knowledge of Redis caching tools
- Understanding of observability and monitoring platforms including Prometheus and Grafana
- Familiarity with testing methodologies, software design principles, and engineering standards
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Solid communication and teamwork skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or an equivalent field
