In this position, the professional will work within a cross-functional team utilizing Java, contribute directly to architectural choices, and guide junior engineers.
This role suits an experienced engineer who is ready to lead feature implementations, manage CD and DevSecOps processes, and maintain technical documentation. The candidate will also integrate artificial intelligence tools into daily workflows while adhering strictly to compliance guidelines regarding personal identifiable information and production data. Nortal operates with high engineering standards, handling complex problems for demanding clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead multiple feature implementations alongside code reviews and bug fix coordination
- Mentor junior team members and assist them when they encounter roadblocks
- Implement continuous delivery and DevSecOps practices while managing integration and user interface test data
- Draft and maintain technical user stories and API documentation
- Share technical knowledge by hosting lunch-and-learn or brown bag sessions
- Identify and escalate potential business opportunities and scope expansions

Requirements
- Solid background working with Java, along with major libraries and frameworks
- Familiarity with core design patterns, relational data, search patterns, and caching
- Experience with continuous delivery, DevSecOps methodologies, version control such as Git, and test management
- Ability to explain Agile principles, facilitate standups, and introduce new members to the methodology
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
