Job Description
So, what are the main responsibilities of the Lead AI Engineer in Netcompany’s Enterprise Solutions?
Joining us as the Lead AI Engineer, you will own the end-to-end delivery of GenAI, LLM and Machine Learning (ML) solutions for enterprise clients across the public and private sectors. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, translating complex AI and ML capabilities into tangible business outcomes, while building and leading a high-performing team of AI and ML engineers.
This is a client-facing leadership role. Your ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments, manage expectations, and drive alignment across business and technology teams will be as important as your technical expertise. You will be the primary AI and ML point of contact for key accounts, presenting to C-level executives, leading workshops, and shaping AI and ML adoption roadmaps.
Focus (but not limited to) the design and implementation of advanced GenAI and ML pipelines leading a technical AI project team to deliver end-to-end creative applications that go beyond current tools and ensuring your team delivers scalable, reusable, extensible and flexible solutions.
As the Lead AI Engineer, you will:
- Serve as the primary AI and ML advisor to key enterprise clients, understanding their business challenges and translating them into AI- and ML-powered solutions that deliver measurable value.
- Lead and grow a team of AI/ML Engineers, and collaborate with MLOps and DevOps specialists, to design, develop, and optimize ML and GenAI architectures tailored to client-specific use cases and business requirements.
- Manage stakeholder relationships across multiple concurrent projects, including steering committees, progress reporting, and escalation management.
- Architect and oversee end-to-end ML and GenAI pipelines, delivering AI applications for key client transformation projects across the region and international business.
- Mentor and develop team members, identifying skill gaps, and creating individual development plans.
- Lead client workshops, discovery sessions, and technical presentations to shape AI strategy and drive adoption.
- Execute the GenAI, LLM and ML strategy including people, technology, methodologies, platforms, and processes, while fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
What would make you a fit for the role:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in AI, Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Engineering, Operational Research or a related field. PhD in Operational Research preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with a proven track record of delivering AI projects in enterprise/consulting environments from conception to production, with at least 2 years in a people management or practice leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience managing client relationships, leading workshops, and presenting technical solutions to non-technical senior stakeholders (C-level, board members, steering committees).
- Experience leading and developing teams, including hiring, performance management, and career development.
- Strong expertise in Machine Learning and GenAI solutions including open source frameworks, RAG architectures, prompt engineering, LLM models (Claude, GPT, Gemini), and production deployment patterns.
- Solid understanding of MLOps, AI model lifecycle management, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Hands-on experience with open source ML/AI frameworks, agentic AI technologies, prompt engineering, and leading LLM models (Claude, GPT, Gemini, Nvidia AI stack).
It would also be a plus if you match some of the following:
- Experience in consulting, systems integration, or professional services environments.
- Experience with AIOps practices, LLM monitoring frameworks, and AI governance.
- Strong knowledge of ML and GenAI frameworks (e.g. LlamaIndex, LangGraph) and AI evaluation tools.
- Pre-sales or business development experience in AI/data services.
