Job Description
Launch Potato is a discovery and conversion business. Through brands such as OnlyInYourState, FinanceBuzz and All About Cookies, it reaches tens of millions of people monthly. It is hiring a Lead BI Developer for a full-time remote position. The posted base pay is USD 120,000 to 150,000 a year, disbursed twice a month, alongside a profit-sharing bonus and benefits. Pay is benchmarked to the nearest large metro area.
The lead owns the reporting infrastructure that supports decisions in credit cards, make-money and manage-money offerings, banking and the marketplace. The role sits with the Yield group, Paid Media staff and Account Management, and it searches for meaningful patterns, runs retrospective reviews of tests, ad creatives, offers, seasonal effects and acquisition cost, and surfaces insights the business has not seen. Early on, the lead audits current dashboards for mismatches and overlaps before standardizing reporting. Within a year the aim is full end-to-end ownership of each assigned vertical, from raw ingestion to the final dashboard.
Candidates need top-level SQL skill and comfort with messy, unstructured and third-party datasets. Advanced LookML work, or equivalent Power BI or Tableau modeling, is required, along with awareness of how model changes ripple downstream. The baseline is seven years in BI or analytics, with hands-on time in performance or affiliate marketing. The posting asks candidates to start with business questions, understand how each vertical earns money, and push adoption of the reports they produce.
