The Professional Services group is currently seeking a Lead Cloud Onboarding Architect to serve as the senior technical authority for Guided Setup across enterprise accounts.
This full-time, remote position bridges the gap between hands-on technical execution and leadership. The successful candidate will manage highly complex and visible onboarding engagements while guiding peers through unusual technical architectures and platform deployment hurdles. Responsibilities span across data warehouse integration, single sign-on configuration, role-based access controls, and network security.
The ideal applicant enjoys tackling ambiguous technical challenges and possesses extensive hands-on experience with dbt as both an administrator and data practitioner. Candidates should excel at cross-functional collaboration, acting as a vital communication bridge between enterprise clients, engineering, product development, and internal coaching teams. Responsibilities
- Manage Guided Setup for the most technically complex, strategically important, and high-visibility enterprise accounts through all four setup milestones
- Act as the senior technical escalation point for critical onboarding blockers including PrivateLink, OAuth, SSO, networking, and identity scenarios
- Engage directly with client administrators to analyze technical environments, mitigate risks, and ensure proper configuration
- Determine appropriate scoping boundaries between Guided Setup, Customer Solutions Engineering, Product, and post-onboarding tasks
- Mentor and coach Cloud Onboarding Architect I and II team members on technical troubleshooting, platform expertise, and communication skills
- Maintain and refine internal documentation, deployment playbooks, kickoff materials, and the core Guided Setup checklist
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Design teams to report onboarding friction, bugs, and feature requests
- Collaborate with the Training team to develop educational content addressing frequent setup obstacles
Requirements
- At least 2 to 3 years of deep, hands-on experience using dbt as an account admin and data practitioner
- Prior professional background serving as a Cloud Onboarding Architect, Implementation Consultant, or directly equivalent role
- Administrator-level fluency with data warehouses including Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, and Redshift
- Working knowledge of code repositories such as GitHub, GitLab, and Azure DevOps
- Experience managing identity providers including Okta, Entra ID, and Google, alongside SSO, SAML, and OAuth
- Proven track record of mentoring and coaching colleagues on technical competencies and soft skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities tailored for diverse audiences ranging from technical staff to corporate executives
Qualifications
- Prior experience implementing PrivateLink or alternative secure connectivity protocols
- Background in authoring internal enablement documentation and training materials
- Familiarity acting as a technical bridge across pre-sales, post-sales, engineering, and product organizations
- Practical experience utilizing Rocketlane or comparable project tracking tools for onboarding delivery
- dbt Architect certification
