This position demands a senior-level technical leader rather than an individual who merely executes assigned tickets at a fast pace. The person in this role will act as a thought partner to product managers and engineering managers, guide technical direction, mentor peers across all levels, and proactively improve internal workflows. The ideal candidate treats artificial intelligence and autonomous agents as a default development workflow while maintaining deep foundational architecture knowledge. Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end feature development from scoping with product managers to architectural decisions and post-launch evaluation
- Utilize artificial intelligence tooling and agents as a standard development approach while elevating the entire team's capability with these tools
- Coach fellow engineers through direct feedback, pairing sessions, code reviews, and effective scope handovers
- Identify and resolve team process inefficiencies independently by building cases and securing buy-in for workflow changes
- Partner closely with engineering and product managers to challenge the roadmap and bring forward unconsidered technical problems
- Connect deployed software features to measurable business outcomes
Requirements
- Possess at least 8 years of software development experience within product companies
- Currently work in a senior engineering capacity such as Lead Engineer, Tech Lead, Senior Product Engineer, or Senior Full Stack Engineer
- Bring experience working within a cross-functional team environment
- Demonstrate a deep foundation in technical architecture and system trade-offs
- Use AI and agent tooling as a default working method while maintaining rigorous oversight over data, money, and authentication logic
- Demonstrate a history of actively mentoring peers and driving measurable workflow improvements
- Exhibit strong communication skills and the ability to handle constructive professional disagreements
Qualifications
- Prior professional background at a rapidly scaling business-to-business or software-as-a-service product company
- Experience managing evaluations, monitoring inference costs, or handling production model failure modes like hallucinations
- Experience acting as a technical counterpart to product managers and engineering managers on broader product roadmaps
