Job Description
Truckstop builds software that runs the freight business, covering everything from load matching to payments for carriers, brokers and shippers. Its culture, described as One Team, rests on assuming good intent, supporting one another and bringing your authentic self to work, alongside high expectations and genuine care for people.
The Lead Infrastructure Engineer III sits within Technology Operations and works with a high degree of independence on the toughest problems. The role supplies technical direction, leads fixes, and pushes automation across the cloud estate. The engineer investigates production faults, responds to incidents and leads work that makes systems more robust and dependable.
Key tasks include designing and running automated Kubernetes environments, maintaining Terraform code that provisions Azure resources, and building automated monitoring, alerting and self-healing. The engineer partners with architects, platform engineering, network and security colleagues on the technical roadmap, standard designs and cloud connectivity, and with software teams so infrastructure can keep pace with fast release cycles.
The engineer also runs root-cause analysis after major outages, covers alert response including out-of-hours, reports on infrastructure performance and operational metrics, and documents environments and processes. Technical leadership of the infrastructure group is part of the position.
Applicants need a bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience, ideally in computer science or engineering, and eight to ten years in the field. At least five years with Microsoft Azure or AWS is required, plus five years building operational systems. Deep expertise is expected in container orchestration, event-bus design, infrastructure as code and automation, along with CI/CD tooling such as GitLab or GitHub Actions. Experience with configuration tooling like Chef, Packer or Puppet, and monitoring suites like New Relic or CloudWatch, is needed, along with PowerShell, Python, YAML, Linux administration, IAM management, Kafka, REST and GraphQL.
The anticipated base salary is $130,000 to $140,000 USD, and the role carries eligibility for a yearly bonus. Final pay depends on market location, job knowledge, education, certifications, skills, experience and internal equity.
