This remote position requires working during the Pacific time zone, with a strong preference for candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The role involves handling complex and innovative transactions, drafting technical accounting memos, guiding policies, and ensuring financial statements accurately reflect intricate business activities. Liftoff embraces a remote-first philosophy with intentional in-person gatherings, requiring attendance at project meetings, regional meetups, or company-wide events at least once per quarter. Responsibilities
- Research and document technical accounting positions covering revenue, stock-based compensation, leases, debt, and capitalized software
- Prepare journal entry support for complex accounting areas and significant non-recurring transactions
- Establish and manage corporate accounting policies
- Drive the implementation of new accounting standards from initial research through operationalization and disclosure impact
- Manage equity-related technical accounting, reviewing grant setups in Equity Edge Online and handling related disclosures
- Prepare the statement of equity, statement of cash flows, financial statement footnotes, and earnings per share calculations
- Assist with the preparation and tie-out of Proxy disclosures
- Partner with Legal, FP&A, and business units regarding new contracts and billing structures
- Provide technical documentation to support internal and external audits
Requirements
- CPA certification
- 6 years of experience in accounting or finance
- Expertise in US GAAP
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Public accounting experience, preferably with a Big 4 firm
