This operational position reports to or collaborates closely with the Global Data Centers division, taking charge of complex negotiations, financing arrangements, and long-term partner relationships.

While applicants based in the San Francisco Bay Area are preferred, remote working arrangements are also under consideration for qualified practitioners.

  • Direct the complete legal strategy for data center acquisitions and digital infrastructure deals, covering diligence, structuring, financing, negotiation, and closing.
  • Draft and finalize single-tenant, build-to-suit, and powered-shell leases, along with capacity reservation, colocation, connectivity, and development agreements.
  • Oversee ongoing legal partnerships with lessors, data center operators, financial backers, and capacity-buying customers.
  • Provide counsel on post-acquisition operations, such as construction, long-lead equipment sourcing, supply chain logistics, regulatory compliance, and dispute management.
  • Evaluate corporate governance, risk factors, and organizational structures related to infrastructure initiatives.

Requirements

  • Possess a minimum of 10 years of direct legal practice handling physical infrastructure and real estate deals with hyperscalers, neo-clouds, or data center providers.
  • Demonstrate hands-on experience negotiating complex colocation agreements or leases.
  • Show a proven history of guiding sophisticated transactions across technical and commercial teams while maintaining deal momentum.
  • Maintain the capability to negotiate technical specifications involving hardware, compute infrastructure, utility needs, and facility operations.
  • Hold a Juris Doctor degree and maintain an active bar membership.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with single-tenant facilities and behind-the-meter power configurations.
  • Background combining experience at prominent law firms and in-house legal departments.

Core Skills

Benefits

  • Annual base salary ranging from $216,000 to $264,000.
  • Discretionary performance bonus.
  • Substantial equity award.
