Job Description

Credible operates a United States consumer finance marketplace that allows individuals to compare personalized, pre-qualified offers across personal loans, student loans, mortgages, credit cards, and insurance without harming their credit score. The enterprise division also powers financial product distribution and comparison through partnerships with lenders, financial institutions, and insurance carriers.

Credible is seeking a temporary Marketing Automation Solutions Architect contractor for an engagement expected to last approximately three to six months to cover for a full-time team member on leave. This position serves as a senior, hands-on technical authority responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and securing revenue-critical and compliance-critical email systems. The contractor will oversee platform configurations, data flows, and integrations, acting as the primary technical point of contact for the Marketing Automation Team.

This role suits an independent technical professional who can ramp up quickly, handle complex operational questions, and document processes thoroughly. The contractor will collaborate across lifecycle marketing, business intelligence, engineering, information security, and legal departments while utilizing modern data stacks and AI tools to ensure seamless campaign execution and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day configurations, integrations, data flows, and synchronization logic for the marketing automation platform
  • Build, troubleshoot, and update multi-touch email journeys involving entry criteria, exit rules, throttling, and branching logic
  • Develop and maintain personalization logic using languages such as AMPscript, Liquid, Handlebars, or SSJS
  • Write and review SQL queries for audience segmentation, data design, and test or control cohort frameworks
  • Protect compliance-sensitive elements including consent tracking, global unsubscribe synchronization, adverse action notice delivery, and PII handling
  • Maintain security-sensitive integration patterns including secret rotation, key management, and environment handling
  • Participate in technical and peer reviews to uphold established coding, naming, and version control standards
  • Translate marketing and business needs into technical designs within Jira and sprint workflows
  • Coordinate with data engineering, information security, and legal teams to ensure releases are production-ready
  • Document architecture notes and technical workflows to ensure a smooth handoff upon the return of the full-time architect
  • Leverage AI coding assistants and research agents for research, QA, code review, and documentation

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience working with an enterprise email or marketing automation platform such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze, Iterable, or HubSpot
  • Advanced proficiency in email scripting languages such as AMPscript, Liquid, or Handlebars
  • Advanced SQL skills for complex query logic and audience segmentation
  • Advanced HTML and CSS capabilities for cross-client, responsive email development
  • Familiarity with API integrations including SOAP and REST, JWT or token authentication, and secure link handling
  • Working knowledge of modern data stacks including Snowflake and dbt, along with Git-based pull request workflows
  • Strong comprehension of data privacy regulations like CAN-SPAM, CCPA, GDPR, and CASL, alongside secure PII handling
  • Experience using Agile or Scrum delivery methods with Jira ticket workflows
  • Ability to work independently with minimal onboarding and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Hands-on practice using AI tools to write, review, or debug scripting and SQL code

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Business, Marketing, or equivalent practical experience
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer, Consultant, or Architect certification
  • Braze Certified Technical Marketing Expert or Developer certification
  • Previous professional background in financial services or another heavily regulated sector
  • Prior consulting or contracting experience with a history of adapting rapidly to new environments
