Penumbra is currently seeking a Marketing Manager to drive the commercial expansion and adoption of its lifesaving medical products across Australia, New Zealand, and the broader APAC region. In this position, you will operate within a multidisciplinary group to build, execute, and oversee promotional initiatives designed to boost sales figures and enhance client satisfaction. The function bridges daily operational tasks with high-level strategic planning, requiring close collaboration with physician clients, territory sales reps, and international marketing peers.

This opportunity is well-suited for professionals who possess a strong background in the medical device sector and a talent for cross-functional project management. Your daily duties will involve orchestrating industry events, coordinating product rollouts, analyzing market competition, and producing targeted sales collateral. You will also oversee, train, and guide departmental staff while maintaining precise communication standards.

The position requires completing tasks across general office, laboratory, and hospital settings, with the expectation to work on-site as needed. Candidates should anticipate a business travel commitment ranging from 30% to 50% of the time. Responsibilities

  • Manage continuing customer and field-oriented product support activities in the assigned region
  • Select, manage, train, and develop staff by establishing objectives and providing ongoing performance feedback
  • Organize and manage key industry events, conferences, and associated budgets to enhance brand visibility
  • Implement promotion strategies and ensure accuracy of product communication content
  • Participate on cross-functional launch teams to facilitate the delivery of new products to sales teams and end users
  • Evaluate company products and competitor offerings continuously based on customer needs and perceptions
  • Contribute to field training on company products and help develop relevant training materials
  • Identify market opportunities and analyze competitive situations to maximize penetration
  • Articulate and reinforce high-level positioning concepts to the field organization
  • Support global marketing activities through communication with regional sales and marketing personnel as well as distributors
  • Develop detailed marketing literature and sales tools for assigned products
  • Engage in market research activities when required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Biology, or a related field combined with three or more years of related experience in the medical device industry
  • Proven experience operating in a clinical setting with a strong grasp of clinical data application in marketing strategies
  • Demonstrated success in event coordination, conference management, and product launch strategy execution
  • Strong analytical skills for forecasting and identifying market trends and challenges
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior leadership and all organizational levels
  • Outstanding oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willingness and ability to work on-site across office, laboratory, and hospital environments with 30% to 50% business travel

Qualifications

  • One or more years of experience in a supervisory role
