In this position, mentors assist students across all phases of the research lifecycle, from choosing a topic and framing a question to designing the study, analyzing data, and preparing final academic outputs. This position operates on a part-time, remote, 1099 independent contractor basis and accepts applicants located in Canada or the United States.
Responsibilities
- Support pre-med students across the complete research lifecycle from topic selection to final deliverables
- Assist students in formulating viable, high-quality research questions that match their academic interests and career objectives
- Evaluate research plans, data analysis, and written drafts to deliver constructive criticism
- Instruct students on proper research methodologies, academic standards, and field-specific expectations
- Assist learners aiming for academic papers, research posters, or journal submissions
- Track student progression against set milestones and schedules to ensure steady progress
Requirements
- Possess an MD and/or a PhD in a relevant field including medicine, biomedical sciences, psychology, or public health
- Showcase proven experience in conducting clinical or academic research
- Demonstrate expertise in research design, academic writing, and data analysis
- Bring prior experience in mentoring students or trainees
