albo, a prominent fintech company providing financial products to consumers and small-to-medium businesses with a mission of enabling financial freedom, seeks a Network Engineer to join its Infrastructure team on a remote, full-time basis. In this role, the professional will take ownership of the multi-cloud network layer spanning GCP and AWS, focusing on VPCs, private connectivity, load balancing, DNS, and edge protection.
This position requires an automation-first mindset. Rather than performing manual updates, the engineer will utilize Network as Code practices to ensure every route, DNS record, edge policy, and firewall rule is versioned, reviewed through pull requests, and deployed via pipelines. The candidate will also integrate networking capabilities into the Internal Developer Platform, known as Keymaker, enabling engineering teams to handle tasks like IP allowlisting through self-service.
The role involves architecting cloud networks, operating load balancers and edge controls in collaboration with Information Security, and resolving connectivity issues using telemetry tools. It suits an engineer who values automation, treats infrastructure as code, and aims to eliminate manual network operations.
Responsibilities
- Design and evolve the multi-cloud network across GCP and AWS utilizing tools like Shared VPC, VPC peering, Private Service Connect, Cloud NAT, Cloud VPN, and private DNS
- Codify network infrastructure using Terraform and automate repetitive tasks with Python, Go, or Bash via GitOps workflows
- Operate Google Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud Armor, IAP, and NGINX-based private proxies on GKE
- Diagnose connectivity, latency, and DNS issues using VPC Flow Logs, Cloud Logging, and Datadog, while leading network incident response
- Collaborate with Platform, DevOps, and Information Security teams to document the network in runbooks and diagrams
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in Network Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or DevOps/SRE with a strong networking focus
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, subnetting/CIDR, routing, NAT, DNS, TLS, and HTTP
- Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code via Terraform and scripting in Python, Go, or Bash
- Hands-on background with cloud networking on GCP or AWS
- Familiarity with Kubernetes networking, reverse proxies like NGINX, and edge controls such as Cloud Armor or AWS WAF
Qualifications
- Experience using AI tools to automate network operations and troubleshooting
- Google Professional Cloud Network Engineer certification
- AWS Certified Advanced Networking certification
- CCNA or CCNP certification
