Job Description

Acadia Pharmaceuticals, a company developing treatments for neurological and rare disease communities, is hiring a Patient Access Manager Lead for a field-based leadership role. The posting lists the position as remote and names target locations of Chicago, Boston, Portland (Maine), New Brunswick (New Jersey) and New York. The role requires up to 60 percent travel.

The lead directs a regionally organized group of Patient Access Managers who support an integrated access portfolio across all brands. The job makes sure the team carries out Acadia's access plan consistently, which includes coaching and developing team members on reimbursement and payer knowledge, covering Medicare, Medicaid, commercial plans and specialty pharmacy routes. The lead also carries out regular on-site coaching to assess performance and offer feedback as it happens.

The role is the main escalation point for complex access issues raised by PAMs, Sales, the hub and case management teams, and external customers. It involves coordinating with Sales leaders, the National Accounts group, Market Access staff, trainers and trade and distribution partners to resolve coverage, reimbursement and distribution problems. The lead reports field insights on payer trends and referral barriers, builds performance metrics and manages territory alignment.

The position is non-promotional and requires leading through influence rather than authority. The posting asks for a bachelor's degree and eight or more years in access-linked work such as reimbursement, patient support, key accounts or specialty pharmacy. It also lists two to three years of leadership experience and a base salary range of $160,000 to $200,000 USD, with eligibility for discretionary bonus and equity.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to resolve coverage, reimbursement, distribution and hub issues
  • Turn corporate access strategy into field execution plans
  • Track payer trends and workflow barriers and recommend improvements
  • Build and report performance metrics on team execution, quality and impact

  • Proven cross-functional leadership without direct authority
  • Solid abilities in communicating, presenting, organizing and analyzing
  • Able to travel as much as 60 percent of the time
