Infinx is hiring a remote Payment Posting Specialist for the Revenue Cycle Team at Ni2 Health. The person in this role will handle financial transactions by processing electronic and paper remittances, reconciling daily deposits, and resolving posting errors.
Responsibilities
- Post payments, adjustments, denials, and refunds utilizing ERA and 835 files
- Process manual payments from insurance remittance advices, EOBs, and related correspondence
- Handle payments from mailed checks and reconcile check batches against deposits
- Balance daily cash posting activities and resolve any variances prior to closing
- Research and correct posting errors, unapplied cash, and unidentified payments
- Maintain established productivity and accuracy standards while adhering to department deadlines
Requirements
- Submit a full curriculum vitae, a cover letter, and an updated resume
- Minimum of three years of healthcare cash posting experience in a hospital, physician practice, revenue cycle management, or healthcare billing setting
- Demonstrated ability to accurately post payments from Electronic Remittance Advice files
- Experience with manual payment posting from EOBs, RAs, and correspondence across commercial, government, and managed care payors
- Experience processing paper check payments and adjustments, including batch reconciliation and deposit balancing
- Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement methodologies, contractual adjustments, denials, recoupments, and refund processes
- Experience reconciling daily cash posting batches to deposits, lockbox reports, bank reports, and remittance documentation
- Understanding of commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and managed care payment processing
- Ability to identify and resolve payment variances, credit balances, unapplied cash, and posting discrepancies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reconciliation and reporting tasks
- Strong attention to detail with the capacity to sustain high productivity and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Experience utilizing MEDITECH Expanse or MEDITECH Revenue Cycle Management systems
- Experience with hospital-based billing and reimbursement covering inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, and professional services
- Experience working with electronic lockbox files, EFT payments, and bank reconciliation procedures
- Knowledge of revenue cycle key performance indicators, payment posting controls, and audit requirements
