Job Description
Price Benowitz LLP is recruiting a litigation paralegal to serve its Personal Injury Practice Group. The mid-sized firm is headquartered in Washington, D.C., and also has locations in Maryland, Virginia and South Carolina. Practice areas include personal injury, medical malpractice, criminal defense, family matters, and wills and trust work.
The paralegal supports a team of attorneys from intake through final resolution of each case. The posted schedule is hybrid, with four days in the D.C. office and one remote day, Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm. The listing says Remote, but the posting itself describes an in-office hybrid position in Washington, D.C.
Daily responsibilities include running a personal injury caseload, organizing and summarizing case files, preparing letters of representation for insurers, drafting discovery requests, expert designations, motions and notices, and making electronic court filings. The paralegal also keeps regular contact with clients, opposing counsel, clerks and insurers, helps prepare for trial, maintains calendars and arranges service of process.
Applicants need at least three years of complex litigation paralegal work, meaning legal research and drafting of substantive pleadings and motions. Knowledge of D.C. litigation and D.C. court procedures is required. Combined D.C. and Maryland litigation background is strongly preferred.
