The security engineering department operates across three core pillars: product security, threat detection and response, and identity. The product security function consists of cloud and application security specialists dedicated to protecting developed offerings through secure design reviews, penetration testing, and threat modelling.
This opportunity as a Principal Product Security Engineer suits an experienced security professional who is passionate about resilient software development. The role focuses on embedding security naturally into development cycles rather than acting as a roadblock. The selected candidate will function as a subject matter expert in application security, helping shape secure engineering standards and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Examine mobile and web applications regularly to grasp feature updates and find vulnerabilities
- Secure cloud-native applications by applying consistent best practices throughout the cloud environment
- Conduct threat modelling and advise developers on secure design principles
- Address security flaws through strategic initiatives, patches, or actionable tickets
- Serve as the application security subject matter expert across the business
- Incorporate security tooling and automation directly into CI/CD pipelines
- Mentor and guide junior engineers to elevate organizational security standards
Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise and depth of knowledge across application security topics
- Extensive familiarity with attack proxies such as Burp Suite
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to present vulnerabilities clearly and advocate for fixes
- Capability to write proof-of-concept scripts to demonstrate potential security impacts
- Hands-on background in securing cloud-native applications
Qualifications
- Contributions to or creation of Burp Suite extensions
- Previous public speaking engagements, blog posts, bug bounty profile, or relevant Git repository showcasing security work
