Job Description
SecurityScorecard is a global cybersecurity ratings enterprise established in 2013, providing patented rating technology used by tens of thousands of organizations for self-monitoring, third-party risk management, and cybersecurity risk mitigation. Operating across 64 countries with over 12 million continuously rated companies, the firm is expanding its engineering division and seeking its first Principal Technical Program Manager, Engineering to join the team.
In this position, you will act as the foundational coordinator across multiple recently formed technical squads and domains. Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, you will map out dependencies, build status and visibility systems, automate coordination using tools like Jira and AI agents, and ensure cross-domain programs remain entirely transparent and on schedule. This individual contributor role suits an independent technical program manager who thrives in unstructured environments and prefers driving results through clarity, influence, and process automation rather than direct management authority.
Candidates should possess extensive industry background in program management within tech organizations, deep familiarity with the software development lifecycle, and proven expertise in building sustainable tracking systems. The role works closely with product managers, domain leads, architecture teams, and the existing portfolio-level PMO to supply clean inputs and remove delivery blockers without owning product or technical decisions.
Responsibilities
- Manage tracking for all programs spanning multiple squads and domains from initial kickoff to final delivery
- Map and maintain dependencies between various squads prior to project execution to flag potential risks early
- Design and maintain the engineering visibility and status tracking system for leadership oversight
- Automate coordination workflows utilizing Jira dashboards, scripts, and AI tools to eliminate manual tracking
- Facilitate cross-team communication sessions including planning syncs and sequencing reviews
- Investigate stalled dependencies, connect relevant leads, and escalate unresolved roadblocks to the VP of Engineering
- Provide accurate engineering data feeds to the portfolio-level PMO
- Support managers with lightweight tracking and goal reviews for quarter-long champion initiatives
- Document cross-team operational workflows to facilitate onboarding for new squads
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in program or project management within technology or engineering organizations
- At least 3 years of experience working at a B2B SaaS company
- Demonstrated history of designing coordination systems and tools that outlasted your tenure
- Background working in fast-paced or evolving organizations while structures were still being defined
- Technical familiarity sufficient to comprehend architecture tradeoffs, dependencies, and the software development lifecycle
- Expertise in Jira administration, reporting dashboards, and tracking tools
- Hands-on experience applying AI tools for status summarization, risk surfacing, or tracking automation
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior engineers, managers, and product leads without direct authority
- Persistent follow-through combined with an adaptable methodology and clear written communication
Qualifications
- Experience working in security-focused products, defense, or cybersecurity
- Background managing programs that intersected across hardware, software, and operations boundaries
- Prior director-level scope or business operations experience
- Experience adapting agile practices like Kanban or Scrum to fit team workflows
- Experience building script-based or agentic workflows for delivery reporting
Core Skills
Benefits
- Competitive salary based on location, skills, and experience
