Job Description
OEC is seeking a Product Designer, Analytics to lead the end-to-end user experience for a newly developed analytics product. In this remote, full-time position, the individual will shape complex data into straightforward, functional interfaces, building dashboards and visualizations that allow users to interpret data and determine subsequent steps. The designer will work alongside engineering and product teams starting from initial concept phases through final release. Candidates must be capable of handling infrequent travel for company onsites, customer meetings, or vendor gatherings. Please note that OEC cannot provide immigration sponsorship, including additional or permanent work authorization, for this role now or in the future.
Responsibilities
- Design reports, dashboards, and data visualizations that simplify complex information
- Convert ambiguous user needs and data into clear interaction models and interface patterns
- Select appropriate layouts, information hierarchies, and chart types for various analytical needs
- Build prototypes, test concepts with users, and iterate based on feedback
- Partner with product managers and engineers to deliver feasible, high-quality designs
- Utilize and contribute to the design system to maintain product consistency
Requirements
- 3+ years of product design experience
- Portfolio demonstrating dashboard and data-visualization work
- Understanding of data visualization principles such as chart selection, clutter reduction, and attention guidance
- Experience designing data-dense, complex products
- Advanced proficiency in Figma including prototyping, auto layout, variables, and components
- Experience designing within a formal design system
- Proficiency with AI tools like Claude for tasks including research synthesis, documentation, copywriting, and rapid prototyping
- Clear communication skills and a cross-functional collaborative style
- Infrequent availability for company onsites, customer meetings, or vendor sessions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in UX/UI, Industrial and Product Design, or a related field
- Equivalent direct work experience substituting for the degree requirement
- Familiarity with accessibility standards for data display
- Familiarity with SQL, data concepts, or analytics platforms
