Job Description
Upsun is seeking a Product Manager to take ownership of a key segment of its cloud application platform. In this position, you will drive the strategy and roadmap for core platform foundations, including the runtime, API, environments, and overall reliability. This is a technical, hands-on role where you will design features for both human users and AI agents, ensuring an exceptional developer experience.
As part of a globally distributed remote workforce, you will collaborate closely with engineering, design, and product marketing teams. Candidates must be authorized to work in Germany, Canada, France, Spain, or the United Kingdom. The hiring process involves five video interviews conducted via Google Meet, followed by a required background check.
Responsibilities
- Own the strategic direction, roadmap, and priorities for a dedicated area of Upsun Cloud
- Gather input from customers, support, engineering, and sales to formulate clear problem statements
- Collaborate with the team to evaluate options, assess trade-offs, and establish feature scopes
- Deliver platform capabilities incrementally by releasing in small increments to learn quickly
- Partner with infrastructure and systems engineering to ensure reliable, scalable execution
- Design workflows, APIs, documentation, and error messages suited for both people and autonomous AI agents
- Engage regularly with customers and define metrics that demonstrate value to users and the business
- Align cross-functional groups including design, engineering, leadership, and product marketing
Requirements
- Prior product management experience owning a specific product area in developer platforms, cloud infrastructure, or PaaS
- Understanding of cloud application deployment and execution, with the ability to work alongside infrastructure engineers on distributed systems or multi-tenant architectures
- Familiarity with software development languages such as Go, Python, JavaScript, Ruby, PHP, or Rust
- Experience with or close collaboration with CI/CD pipelines, Docker or OCI container technologies, and API design
- Familiarity with modern AI tools and autonomous agent architecture
- Ability to navigate ambiguous problem spaces and communicate clearly in written and verbal forms
Qualifications
- Enthusiasm for testing and utilizing the platform features you help build
- Experience using Kubernetes or constructing self-service platforms on Kubernetes
