Translated seeks an experienced professional for a remote Project Manager - Interpreting role within its Core Project Management Team. In this position, you will oversee interpreting projects from initial request to final delivery across various formats, including simultaneous, consecutive, sign language, and sworn interpreting. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, recommending optimal solutions, managing budgets, and coordinating professional interpreters. While interpreting is the primary focus, you may also handle localization tasks when required. The setup is a fully remote freelance collaboration, requiring availability during Italian business hours (CET/CEST), with potential work needed on public holidays or outside standard hours. An initial onboarding session at the company headquarters in Rome will be organized.
Responsibilities
- Manage interpreting projects from single meetings to multi-day, multilingual events from start to finish
- Advise clients on interpreting modes, team sizes, language combinations, and technical setups
- Select, brief, and coordinate professional interpreters and technicians
- Serve as the primary contact before, during, and after sessions by organizing preparation materials, conducting technical checks, and monitoring live events
- Oversee project budgets and maintain profitability targets
- Collaborate with Senior Project Managers to test and improve workflows
Requirements
- At least two years of experience as a Project Manager in the interpreting industry
- Familiarity with Remote Simultaneous Interpreting platforms and interpreting equipment
- Fluency in English
- Strong computer and web proficiency
- Excellent communication and client-facing advisory skills
- High attention to detail and ability to adapt quickly during live sessions
- Availability to work during Italian business hours (CET/CEST), with occasional flexibility for public holidays or non-standard hours
Qualifications
- Knowledge of German or French
- Prior experience working on localization projects
