Stream Realty Partners is hiring a Property Accountant II for a remote position. The company operates as a full-service commercial real estate firm with headquarters in Dallas, Texas, managing office, industrial, retail, healthcare, land, and multifamily properties across the United States. In this role, the employee will handle full-cycle general ledger accounting, prepare monthly financial statements, and ensure compliance with internal and external policies. The accountant will also collaborate with property managers to complete annual budgets and reconciliations, manage cash accounts, and support internal and external reporting. Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial statement packages, including general ledger reviews, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules
- Communicate regularly with property managers regarding financial data and assist clients with basic to intermediate inquiries
- Help support the property budgeting process and expense reconciliation preparation
- Produce recurring and ad hoc reports as well as Sales and Use Tax returns where applicable
- Oversee project cash accounts, review payables, process vendor invoices, and ensure timely payments for mortgages, taxes, and utilities
- Maintain compliance with SOC I requirements while delivering internal and external customer service
Requirements
- Possess two to four years of relevant accounting or reporting experience
- Demonstrate accounting and analytical skills appropriate for the experience level
- Maintain a solid grasp of fundamental accounting principles
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication abilities, including active listening
- Work effectively in a deadline-driven environment with self-motivation and multitasking capabilities
- Demonstrate intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
Qualifications
- Familiarity with various software systems such as Yardi or MRI
- Prior background in full-cycle general ledger accounting
- Previous experience working within the real estate industry
