Responsibilities

• Assume ownership of the organization-wide quality engineering strategy, operating model, and roadmap.
• Evaluate quality maturity levels, identify bottlenecks, and prioritize improvements with high company-wide impact.
• Establish cross-domain standards for test architecture, testability, observability, coverage, and release readiness.
• Collaborate across departments to embed shift-left practices, quality controls, and risk-based gates into the SDLC.
• Direct the strategy for QA toolchains and automation architecture, validating technical choices through code and prototypes.
• Experiment with emerging technologies and AI to implement modernization initiatives and cloud-native test environments.
• Investigate critical incidents, unstable testing environments, and systemic automation failures across teams.
• Define practical quality metrics to make technical debt and improvement trends visible to leadership.
• Mentor QA technical leads to help them translate high-level strategy into sustainable domain decisions.

Requirements

• At least eight years of experience in quality assurance and quality engineering, featuring technical leadership across multiple domains or teams.
• Proven track record of defining quality strategies, standards, or large-scale transformations with measurable outcomes.
• Thorough knowledge of risk-based testing, coverage strategies, shift-left principles, and quality gates.
• Hands-on programming skills capable of designing and contributing to UI and backend automation, with a preference for Python alongside familiarity with Go or Node.js.
• Experience working with distributed backend systems, REST APIs, event-driven workflows, and third-party integrations.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-native or GitOps environments, and observability platforms.
• Proficiency in defining quality metrics, communicating technical risk, and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Active use of AI tools in daily engineering tasks, combined with a research-driven approach to evaluating new technologies.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English and Russian.

Qualifications

• Background in fintech, crypto, payments, compliance, financial operations, or other highly regulated environments with complex integrations.
• Familiarity with Kafka, message queues, Debezium, ledger systems, eventual consistency, and event-driven architecture.
• Experience conducting contract, performance, load, resilience, or reliability testing.
