Hudl is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join its performance analysis squad. In this position, you will help build and scale tools that assist coaches and analysts in turning game data and video into actionable insights, ensuring metrics, clips, and playlists remain accurate, reliable, and fast.
You will lead testing initiatives within the squad, focusing on defect prevention and overall efficiency to deliver a seamless experience. Your daily duties will involve championing quality during sprint ceremonies, designing comprehensive test strategies, writing post-mortems for hotfixes, and performing a combination of automated, manual, and exploratory testing to guarantee clean builds.
Hudl prioritizes applicants located within commuting distance of Omaha or Nebraska, as regular in-office collaboration with colleagues is required, alongside the flexibility to coordinate specific schedules.
Responsibilities
- Participate in sprint scrum ceremonies to advocate for quality standards and prioritize backlog defects
- Design test plans, implement quality best practices, and produce root cause analyses for all hotfixes
- Execute automated, exploratory, and manual testing from the beginning to the end of the development cycle
- Verify that sub-defects are successfully fixed and merge builds run cleanly
- Dedicate time to personal skill-building and professional development
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of software testing experience in fast-paced environments
- Experience designing and executing tests across the technology stack, from front-end UI validation to API testing
- Proficiency in languages such as Python and TypeScript
- Hands-on experience with modern automation frameworks including Selenium and Playwright
- Experience testing iOS or Android applications using tools like Appium, Detox, or React Native
- Familiarity with app protocols such as REST and GraphQL
Qualifications
- Background in a STEM-related field or prior experience working in a SaaS environment
- Exposure to AI tools such as coding assistants, LLMs, or test data generators
- Familiarity with the Scrum framework and sprint ceremonies
