Job Description
The Buffalo Brewing Company, a growing brewing enterprise based in Harare, is searching for a Quality Systems Coordinator to join its Quality Control Department on a full-time, on-site basis. This role is suited for an experienced professional focused on establishing, overseeing, and enhancing quality management frameworks. The chosen applicant will steer the company toward achieving formal certifications and elevating compliance with established food safety standards.
The position requires close cooperation with the production, supply chain, and maintenance divisions to foster a robust safety and quality culture across operations. Key tasks involve managing HACCP initiatives, conducting risk assessments, running internal reviews, and leading preparation for external audits.
Responsibilities
- Build, execute, and sustain quality management procedures, documentation, and guidelines
- Manage HACCP tasks, including hazard evaluations, monitoring strategies, and corrective measures
- Prepare the organization for certification through gap analyses, documentation checks, and audit management
- Perform food safety hazard evaluations, inspections, and regulatory compliance reviews
- Resolve issues and non-conformances by implementing corrective and preventive measures
- Deliver educational sessions regarding quality protocols, safety guidelines, and compliance
- Track performance metrics and draft progress reports on system efficiency
- Partner with production, supply chain, and maintenance teams to promote quality standards
- Maintain adherence to statutory laws and industry regulations
Requirements
- Hold a Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Safety, Quality Management, Biotechnology, or an aligned discipline
- Possess demonstrable background in managing, executing, or coordinating structured quality management frameworks
- Demonstrate direct participation in at least one formal certification initiative such as FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, HACCP, ISO 9001, or a comparable quality standard
- Display analytical, organizational, record-keeping, problem-solving, and communication abilities
- Demonstrate the capability to guide cross-functional groups and adhere to certification schedules
Qualifications
- Obtaining a postgraduate degree in a relevant management, quality, or food safety field
- Possessing credentials or training in internal auditing, lead auditing, food safety systems, or HACCP
